Privacy Policy

SEO Inspector is a browser extension that analyzes the technical SEO of the page you are viewing. This policy explains exactly what the extension does and does not do with data.

In short: we do not collect, store, sell, or transmit your personal data, and we run no server.

1. Data we collect

None. SEO Inspector has no backend server and no analytics. We do not collect personal information, browsing history, or usage statistics, and we do not use cookies or tracking of any kind.

2. How page analysis works

When you click the extension icon, SEO Inspector reads the content of the active tab (such as title, meta tags, headings, links, images and structured data) and analyzes it locally in your browser. This analysis happens on your device and is shown only to you. The page data is not sent to us.

3. Preferences and API keys

Your settings - such as your theme choice, your selected AI provider, and any API key you enter - are stored locally on your device using the browser's local extension storage (chrome.storage.local). This information never leaves your device through us and is not transmitted to any KERVAN server, because no such server exists.

4. Optional AI features

The AI diagnostics are optional and run only when you click "Run". You choose how they run:

• On-device (Chrome AI): the analysis is performed locally by your browser's built-in model. No data leaves your device.
• Your own provider key (for example Claude, OpenAI, Gemini, Groq, OpenRouter, or any OpenAI-compatible endpoint): the page data you choose to analyze, plus your prompt, is sent directly from your browser to the provider you selected, using your own API key. That request is governed by your chosen provider's own privacy policy and terms. KERVAN does not receive, see, or store this data, and does not act as an intermediary.

You can clear your stored key at any time in the extension's Settings.

5. Permissions

• activeTab and scripting: let the extension read the current tab's content for analysis only when you invoke it. The extension reads the page; it does not modify it.
• storage: saves your preferences and key locally on your device.
• contextMenus: adds a right-click option to search for duplicate content.
• Optional broad site access: requested only at the moment you enable the optional link-status / hreflang checker or save an AI provider, and only to make the network requests those features need. It is not requested at installation.

6. Third-party tools

The extension provides one-click links to trusted third-party tools (for example Google PageSpeed Insights, Rich Results Test, Schema Validator, Wayback Machine, WHOIS and similar). Opening these links takes you to those external sites, which are governed by their own privacy policies. The extension does not share your data with them; it simply opens a link.

7. Children

SEO Inspector is a professional tool intended for website owners, developers and marketers, and is not directed at children.

8. Data sharing and sale

We do not sell or transfer your data to third parties, because we do not collect it. We do not use any data for advertising, profiling, or creditworthiness purposes.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the extension evolves. Material changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
